Why volunteer for Maker Faire Milwaukee?

To learn, have FUN and keep Maker Faire Milwaukee free and open to everyone! Great volunteers are what make a stellar Maker Faire! They ensure all makers–whether visiting or exhibiting–are informed and engaged while they learn and discover new things. Volunteers can do anything from helping out on a race course to staffing information booths. Our form now allows for groups and families to sign-up at one time. If you are a student or employee of a company that requires community service hours, volunteering at Maker Faire Milwaukee can count towards your service.

Individual volunteers must be 16 or older and sign a liability release form. Those under 18 require a parent signature. Children younger than 16 can volunteer with a guardian or the entire family.

Contact volunteer@makerfairemilwaukee.com with any questions. There will be three optional volunteer orientation days leading up to the event to provide an opportunity to meet other volunteers learn about Faire Layout and changes and hack your volunteer T-shirt.

Volunteer Orientations

Attending a volunteer orientation is not required, however we highly recommend it. At orientation we will cover layout, registration procedures, and various activity stations being produced by the Faire. You will also receive your Maker Faire t-shirt and have an opportunity to hack your Maker Faire t-shirt to make it unique. Please feel free to attend one or more of the orientation date – they will be fun!

Email volunteer@makerfairemilwaukee.com with any questions and to RSVP for one or more of the orientations.
