What inspired you to make this project?
The UWM Engineers Without Borders student chapter visits communities in Guatemala to design and install water systems and identified a need for the villagers while there; the people carry cell phones and have cell service, but their homes are not connected to the electrical grid. The displayed projects will include solar charging stations made by high school students that will be taken to Guatemala later this year. The skyline craft was inspired by the intersection of architecture & urban planning with engineering.
