Build your own 3D Printer

Maarten van Lier
After having worked as a Software Architect for the Fortune 500 for about 20 years, I turned to my real passion of Making. I started with Building my own CNC machine, joined the Milwaukee Makerspace and caught the bug. For the last 5 years I've been designing and implementing 3D printers with budgets ranging from $400 to "I lost count". I like to wrap up my designs and builds by writing instructables on instructable.com and make available the design for those who want to build one themselves.

What inspired you to make this project?
It has become my passion to design and build 3D printers. The Opensource nature of the 3D printing community has inspired me to make all designs Opensource as well. I enjoy interacting with those who implement my designs or simply want to learn more. In the process, I keep learning more myself on a daily basis.
