Eurorack DIY: hand-crafted electronic music

Karl Stamm
Dr. Karl Stamm is a data scientist, exploring complex spaces to help other curious minds get to what they're looking for. By day, he does math for the Medical College of Wisconsin, and in the evenings he's tinkering with electronic toys. Analog electronics are a lot like programming, doing logical processing with audio engages the mind without being on a computer any more than necessary.

What inspired you to make this project?
I spent a lot of time programming, and want to have the entertainment of logical development without spending any more time at a computer. Computers can do anything, but hardware is immediate, here, now, never crashing or updating. Soldering and building circuits is fun, and I want to show the public/kids that we can make anything with some time and effort. The DIY part for me was mostly a pandemic-project when I had more free time than cash, so let's see what we can build from scratch. Then I can open it up and show people anything is possible.
