What better way to kick off the summer than with a Week of Making! The White House will be celebrating the National Week of Making June 17th through the 23rd, 2016 and they are inviting libraries, museums, rec centers, schools, universities and community spaces to support and grow the number of citizen-makers.
Here’s a snippet from President Obama’s National Week of Making Proclamation:
“Makers and builders and doers — of all ages and backgrounds — have pushed our country forward, developing creative solutions to important challenges and proving that ordinary Americans are capable of achieving the extraordinary when they have access to the resources they need.”
How can you get involved? Share your latest project, or a maker event you attend. Inspire others to be creative and try new things. If you post anything online about your making activities, use the hashtags #NationOfMakers and #WeekofMaking
